After working with Substance Painter for over a year, I can say with confidence that it's the best 3D paint application available for motion picture visual effects. Artists who are new to the application will likely find Substance's familiar interface and workflow extremely intuitive, even though it's significantly different from other software. Artists who are familiar with other software will likely feel right at home immediately.
I don’t know if it’s a bug or an immunity to computer virus or what, but my lectures absolutely have to be saved/copied. I can rename them, but they still automatically get the previous file name once they’re copied/pasted.
Same issue as above, but it happened last night. If you aren’t a series workhorse on alt-tab, it’ll crash out if you are and you’ll loose your dirty state and be forced to reset and reload. Generally this happens when you try to save the work after which you are prompted to input a new name. I’m not sure when it started to happen, but it’s getting to be an irritating issue.
This is a great option that works in a lot of the cases I use it for, but I believe there are some things that could be improved. For example I see how it can be beneficial to be able to save time if I am only adjusting something that I know is going to be preserved (I.E. material properties), but this could also be taken to an extreme. For instance, if let's say I have added custom materials, and adjusted those custom materials, it could save me a lot of time if the parameters I saved at the beginning of this project are applied to this material when I load in the project and not have to go through the adjusting phase everytime. This could be an option that I could set myself to save these custom parameters. In my opinion this could save a lot of time. d2c66b5586
