The only thing that can save you from being knocked out of the game is being saved by a zombie bite, in which case, the zombie cannot hurt you any more and they must move to a new target. You cannot be saved once you've been bitten, however.
You can occasionally roll a 6 when trying to roll for a seven or eight, but rolling four 1s or 4s results in a six, so you don't even get any advantage for trying to roll a six. The number is even rolled on a seven or eight. There is a vaguely-defined rule, explained later in this FAQ, that says that both players roll a one for any seven or eight on a win roll, but it is not made part of the rules.
On a tie, you lose (and roll up your score for the current match), but when you die, you don't loose any experience points for that match, they just stay with you until you get bitten (giving you a total of tied experience points after the match). Death also has the advantage of not ending the match, as dying effectively just gives you another 24 hours to live.
It is possible to let it sit there, even as more matches are won (and thus, more are added to your experience points total). If you roll the score on a win for done, then it is considered a loss for the game. d2c66b5586
