NOTE: For more information on the process of creating and using a custom/bootable DVD, you can visit our installablemaps.html page. You will be provided the necessary information along with a product code you can use to select a installation recording. Once your DVD is made, you can email it along with the installation code to update.com for installation. We encourage all MKIII computer owners to do their own software updates to avoid having to write a software update disc, as we sell this as a service.
E39Source does NOT sell or install updated firmware for regular users. We suggest that users do not attempt the update unless they have successfully upgraded from a lower version of this software.
Generally speaking, we have found that the software can upgrade from any MKI to any MkIV navigation computer with no problems. However, we do our best to test each computer thoroughly before offering the firmware upgrade. Assuming it has worked successfully for us, we have found that the Navip is always the most reliable. Second is the NavizOne, WP or Vista. Third is the 71, 72, or 73 Navip. Lastly, we have found that the Naviv series is the most reliable navigation computer to upgrade.
The first time you power up the Navip, you may notice continuous graphics glitches and mode errors. These will subside in a few seconds. If you expect this, simply not power the Navip down. Do not change your power settings or expect to lose anything. After a few seconds the Navip will boot normally. Some users have experienced sporadic network or radio issues while switching computers. d2c66b5586
